just another day with zeb

here is z with his favorite toy. its a bug. he likes it so much because really its a hand puppet and he thinks its another family member. kent and i discussed using this little puppet as his "mom". having it feed him and talk to him. I would hide my face behind it. it smiles all the time and is brightly colored so we figured he'd love it. We wanted to see if we could get him to think it was his mother. we decided against it after awhile. too much work.
we went to the doctor's with little z today. it was funny cause a third year med student checked everything and he giggled the entire time! she was super nice but said she felt stupid cause kent was in med school and that she really wasn't that far ahead of him. she was wonderful though. the real doctor also came in and checked on him. all is well. he weighs 13.3 pounds and is 23 and a half inches long. he's in the 50th percentile for just about everything.

for those not already aware

Okay, since Ike brought it up, I best explain for those of you that are not familiar with my pee-drinking. IT WAS FOR SCIENCE! Yes, i drank my own urine for ten straight days. It was only in the morning and I diluted it with water. In my "History and Philospohy of Biology" class at BYU my group did a reasearch project on "Urine Therapy". We decided to actually try the therapy out so that we had more reliable info on presentation day. The professor flipped. We all got A's.
We did all sorts of research and concluded that (unless you have a UTI) it is perfectly safe to drink your pee. Millions of Chinese do it regularly. It is said to be able to cure and treat anything from allergies, to common viruses, to even cancer. It wasn't that bad but none of us were cured from our ails. I had allergies and another participant had a head cold. The others just drank it to "improve energy". No effects, negative or positive, were noticed.
lots of animals do it to. PLEASE take the survey below if you haven't already.

zeb has gotten so much cuter and so much more exciting! hooray for not being the newborn anymore. really i didn't like that phase at all. those first two monthsish were a little too much. good thing kent was around lots to help (although it took him longer to warm up to the little rugrat then it did me!). these two pics are two of my very favorite.

He still absolutely Loves the bathtub...especially when he's with kent! i'm sure all babies are like this but, never fail, as soon as he hits the water he totally pees. since having the baby I can't take a shower without going to the bathroom first or i'll do the same thing (was that too much information?).

laney, i really wish that you and taylor would come out soon! i really want you to play with z. you'd love it!

My mornings!

Here is a picture of our walking group! I'm the one with the waving hand! you can enlarge the picture and get a better view. The ward gets together every tuesday and thursday to do walking group at "swan creek". I, with a couple other sisters in the ward, go everyday! Some days we get up to fifteen sisters...and about 37 kids (maybe a few less!). In my last ward I went to the walking group once and it was more of a stroll! here we get going and it is pretty good cardio. We walk about 3.4 miles each day. We decided not to take a pic at the end because we were all sweaty and gross. If you don't know already, I LOVE the parks out here. The green, the animals, everything! I LOVE IT!

we DO have family in OHIO!!!

Yesterday we traveled down to Ashland, about 1 and a half hours southeast of us, to visit cousin Amy and fam! It was wonderful. Her in-laws, the Starkeys (a wonderfully fun family), live there in one of the most beautiful places in ohio that we've seen so far! We had a delicious picnic (which is very obvious if you look at the food oozing out on the sides of my mouth or at amy's chipmunk cheeks!) and had an INCREDIBLE blizzard ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. It was the BEST cake (without any cake really) that I have EVER had. I'm dead serious. It is craigos b-day on tuesday!

The starkeys live on six acres and it is amazing! they have a little nature trail that goes up their backyard. they also have a fire pit, a great little garden, and an above ground pool.

this is their backyard!!!!!

Katie and Taylor are so dang funny! kent convinced katie that we were going to get lost in the woods on our little nature walk! from then on out she kept telling her mom that the we were in "creepy woods". Kent gets a kick out of scaring and teasing little children. It was such a fun little trip. I loved being able to see family... especially cousin amy. The drive was beautful too. we can't wait for fall.
