ewww.

Okay, so I know, we have blogged about all of the wonderful things here in Ohio. There is however one awful thing that we have come to realize. Here in Ohio we have humidity. It isn't terribly horrendous, but it does lead to some terribly horrendous things. We noticed it at Cedar point (there the humidity was hell like. 90 degrees with 90% humidity. it's like living in a dishwasher) the amusement park. In the humidity when you walk past someone, you can smell them and smell them well. The water particles in the air seem to hold other particulates and suspend them for longer periods of time. The diffusion rate is much slower than in Utah. My little sis put it best when she said "It's like you can taste people when you walk past them."

Here is a man I don't think any of you want to taste. He was in line next to us at the amusement park.

happy baby.

This little rugrat is soooo much easier to love when he's happy and making cute little faces! Kent and I both agree that a screaming baby makes for grumpy parents!! and grumpy parents makes for an even grumpier baby.

Almost daily, Z rediscovers his nose and stares at it for awhile...always with little pursed lips.

bloggers beware!

Okay, so after reading Heidi's post about giving out blog addresses and whatnot, I started thinking. How many bloggers are out there and how many of them are interrelated? and how many people are getting to my blog through links of others (like the tiffanie and her missionary fiasco!) I wondered how long it would take me to go to a friend's blog (out of the family altogether) and choose a link from that blog of somebody that I didn't know and then eventually get back to my own blog by clicking on random blog links.

so, I actually tried it! i thought it was a long shot, but i figured that being mormon helps a lot because all blogs lead back to utah!! It took me only about 15 minutes to get back to a blog with a link to me on it! and guess what? the blog that brought me back to my own was HEIDI's! for real. I linked to it from "dance bama" or something blog. there I was, out in blogworld, looking at people's links and lo and behold there appeared "gary and heidi".

I also ran into blogs of friends from highschool, people in my ward growing up ten years ago, and my fhe brother from ricks! I ventured to many states and even oversees on a few links and still managed to find my way back home.

the blogworld is ever so small and intertwined. bloggers beware.
Okay, so finally...here are some of the pictures from our roadtrip! I can't believe that it went so well and was actually really really fun! Kent and I were both quite surprised to find nebraska so enjoyable! we loved the corn fields and the greenness of it all!

we stopped in Nauvoo and saw the temple, the sites, rode the little buggy down to the Mississippi river, and just walked around the shops! I loved the Mississippi river! there were the most incredible flowers along the river beds! i loved them!

sorry that its sideways!

baby Z slept on kent the entire buggy ride!

here is the back of a car that I just had to take a picture of! i especially love bugs bunny.

After Nauvoo we drove to Carthage. I enjoyed it even more than Nauvoo. The jail was really incredible! Just to be there and realize that Joseph Smith died there. It was really amazing.

Here we are under the window that the Prophet fell out of.
The trip was great! We could not have done it without my family helping along the way!! It made it more fun and a whole lot easier and more pleasant!!

Toledo, OHIOOOOOOOOOOO

The internet man came today and we are all set to go! It makes me feel more relaxed to have the internet. We can finally communicate with everbody!

I can't even explain how weird it is to be here! It feels so normal and so great. Our apartment completely feels like home already.

Being a member of the church is the greatest blessing in the world when it comes to moving! We moved into a wonderful family right away. There were people already here when we pulled in to help us move our stuff ! and then at church we were welcomed so quickly. It also turns out that my MTC teacher and his wife are in this ward! and even better, one of my best friends from Orem Jr (I taught with her there) is in this ward with her husband! They invited us over for dinner on monday and she came by this evening to give me info on substitute teaching!

Kent and I have already had the opportunity to go out with the missionaries! I went with the sisters and Kent with the elders and it was wonderful! I had such a great experience helping teach a newly married couple! they are coming with kent and I to the ward opening social next saturday!

Plus, there is so much amazing stuff to do in Toledo!! the botanical gardens are AMAZING! just beautiful. the parks by our house feel like tropical rain forests and they are full of great animals and bugs! we have fireflies outside our windows and there's a cool little place by our house that has 69 cent shakes on wednesdays! the public library is so great (we already went in and got cards) and tony packos has the most incredible chicken chili on this planet.

so far, great! I think I am in for a little shock once kent starts school though! it won't be nearly as much fun with just zeb. he's still pretty boring.

here are some cool pictures we've taken!

Okay, so this post is for my little sisters..Metta and Daysa. Baby Z was so good driving out to Toledo! He only had one fit and it was ten minutes from the hotel! I think it went so well because he always had two little faces in the back seat to keep him company (metta and daysa rode in the back all the way to toledo). We took my family to the airport and the minute he got back into his carseat and realized that he no longer had two happy faces smiling at him, he had a come apart. The pictures are of the before and after! The frowny face erupted into a scream very quickly!

Here at the Toledo Public Library!

We are at the toledo public library trying to update our blog! the only pictures that we can post right now are from our phones so I apologize for any poor quality! the past week has been quite the adventure.

The two pictures below are from cedar point, possibly the craziest amusement park on earth! Kent can vouch for the craziness, he threw up all over the place after going on some really intense rides. The worst part of it all was that he was strapped onto a roller coaster where his head was being held in place by an over-the-head restraint so he had nowhere to ralph but all over himself. It was terrible and hysterical all at the same time!! He hated the ride pictured below...its the "wicked twister"..... its a giant U (the yellow snake looking thing on both sides of the picture) and is terribly intense. It takes you straight up and down back and forth from one side of the u to the other and does a corkscrew at both ends! I loved it.

Here is the Nauvoo temple. We have lots more pics that we will have to post soon. We'll create a travel log for you all! Nauvoo was great, so was carthage!

And finally a glimpse of Toledo.
This is Swan Creek Park! It is only one mile from our house and is AMAZING!! wow! it has a three mile trail that runs through it with crickety swinging bridges and the works! you all must come visit and see it!

Hopefully the internet people come tomorrow and set up! we have lots more to post! this place is wonderful! the ward is great and is so welcoming and we've already made good friends.
hope to be back to blogging soon!! ---kent and leisy.
